There's a strange sort of negativity on here
|
Can't quite put my finger on it, but it feels like the uneasy stillness before a storm.
A win at Anfield might clear the air, though.
Of pigs.

What always beggars belief is that despite evidence to the contrary and there is a stack of it, 46%, yes 46% think we will win at Liverpool.
Blind faith if there ever was. Admirable but bordering on insanity.

Agreed - been here many times before, and will be again. No need to panic.

We're still scrambling for a striker though, Alex, and the window will be shut soon. I think we've been here before with this.

I don't agree. As far as I can see almost every PL team is scrambling for players, as always happens towards the end of the window. That we bought players so early in the window is the exception rather than the rule imo.

I wonder what the Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham fans are saying about their owners.
Bet they all want Neymar and Messi.

I haven't seen one criticism of our manager on here. It seems to me that all the criticism is directed at the owners....

For some reason and putting the last 2 piss poor results aside as well as our extremely thin squad. all doesn't seem well in the camp.
The disciplinary record with the number of red cards we've had so far and the sakho domestic issue. The fall out with amalfitano and valencia publicly moaning about the way he's been treated since his injury. The alarm bells are ringing for me already.

Same points tally at this time last season, no panic on that front. But throw the poor EL campaign into it, and a new Manager finding his feet, in a new League, with key players injured, in a Season where relegation is not really an option, and I can see the concerns.

Sure Jose will get the sack after their lacklustre start.

The best run teams ...ie those with a plan would have their squads pretty much in place before a ball is kicked in anger. I'd say we still have at least 5 players to jettison and replacements/upgrades to bring in by transfer deadline day. By which time we would have played over 10% of the seasons league fixtures and already been knocked out of a European competition. As long as that is achieved then my only Negative would be was why the fcuk this was not addressed much earlier ?

all true One mac, they hardly encouraged him stay it has to be said....
I'm no allardyce apologist, glad he's gone in many ways. The perverse thing is this is one season in our whole history where the priority should be survival in the Prem above all else

He wouldn't have stayed anyway, even if we offered him a contract... He was tired, he couldn't pull a decent game from after Christmas...
I personally think he needed the rest, its why he's not back yet

To be honest, 3 wins in 21 games, shouldn't get you any kind of contract extension...anywhere, and there are no guarantees at all about Allardyce 100% keeping us up what so ever! Its all made up jargon, no one can read the future, as much as Allardyce as manager means safety.
Red cards in Europe....all play acting... Not worth mentioning, either is Adrians.. Was bolox as well 1 real red card ain't so bad
And we have all our strikers injured ALL, Miaga, who we finally got a buyer for (Sir Sam bought him iirc for 5-5millionn) we can't sell him to some Saudi mob, so he has to start at Liverpool!!
Ain't much rocket science in anything i said
Just all true

Allardyce's contract run out and he said he didn't want to stay.
The owners did NOT get rid of him.
Oh, and we lost our first 2 home games last season.
You're welcome.

there is one single objective for this season that transcends all others.
We remain a Premiership club going into the O/S
Where we finish in the league, as long at it's 17th or above, is utterly immaterial by comparison.
On that basis i am at a loss to understand why the board got rid of Allardyce in favour of the untried (EPL) Billic
2 appalling home defeats, 5 sendings off and out of Europe to a team of lower league level.
As it goes there are worse teams than West Ham in this league but I struggle to see us much further on than lower mid table

true Blagg which is why we need a strong squad for a new manager trying to play a new style too. Net addition of 1 player to a team that lost 3 in 21. Asking for trouble isnt it?

Mentioned this on another thread but WHU's injury issues are well beyind any normal type of reason. This has been going on for decades and there is no logical explanation.
